Gaibandha Shines Through the Light of Photography Photo Contest Winners Honored & Exhibition Held
A unique photography exhibition titled “Stories of Char and Life through Images”, captured by renowned Gaibandha-based photographer Kuddus Alam, was inaugurated on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
Organized at the Bijoy Stambha premises of Gaibandha Municipal Park, the exhibition also showcased selected winning entries from a student photography competition, celebrating youth creativity and storytelling through photography.

The exhibition was inaugurated by internationally acclaimed photographer, human rights activist, author, and curator—Dr. Shahidul Alam, founder of Drik Picture Library and Pathshala South Asian Media Institute, and recipient of the Ekushey Padak.
The event was presided over by Md. Abul Hossain Mridha, advisor of the organizing body Srijonshil Gaibandha. Mostafa Sabuj, a member of the Media Reform Commission under the interim government and correspondent of The Daily Star, attended as special guest.
During the event, Dr. Shahidul Alam handed over prizes to the winners of the student photography competition, acknowledging their talent and vision.
He said:
“The language of images is often more powerful than words. This enthusiastic participation from young minds gives us great hope.”
The exhibition and competition were made possible with the support of “Su-Palace” and “Fashion Palace”.
ছবির আলোয় উদ্ভাসিত গাইবান্ধা ফটোগ্রাফি প্রতিযোগিতার বিজয়ীদের সম্মাননা ও প্রদর্শনী
গাইবান্ধার খ্যাতিমান আলোকচিত্রী কুদ্দুস আলম এর লেন্সে বন্দী “ছবির ভাষায় চর ও জীবন” এই থিমকে কেন্দ্র করে আয়োজিত হয় এক ব্যতিক্রমধর্মী আলোকচিত্র প্রদর্শনী।
প্রদর্শনীতে শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য আয়োজিত ফটোগ্রাফি প্রতিযোগিতার বিজয়ী ছবিগুলোও স্থান পায়, যা তরুণদের সৃজনশীলতার এক অনন্য প্রকাশ।

প্রদর্শনীর উদ্বোধন করেন আন্তর্জাতিক খ্যাতিসম্পন্ন আলোকচিত্রী, মানবাধিকার অ্যাক্টিভিস্ট, লেখক ও কিউরেটর-দৃক পিকচার লাইব্রেরি ও পাঠশালা সাউথ এশিয়ান মিডিয়া ইনস্টিটিউট-এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা, একুশে পদকপ্রাপ্ত ড. শহিদুল আলম।
অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন আয়োজক সংগঠন সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা’র উপদেষ্টা মো. আবুল হোসেন মৃধা। বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মোস্তফা সবুজ, অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন সরকারের গণমাধ্যম সংস্কার কমিশনের সদস্য ও দ্য ডেইলি স্টার প্রতিনিধি।
এ সময় শিক্ষার্থীদের অংশগ্রহণে আয়োজিত ফটোগ্রাফি প্রতিযোগিতার বিজয়ীদের হাতে পুরস্কার তুলে দেন প্রধান অতিথি ড. শহিদুল আলম।
তিনি বলেন,
“ছবির ভাষা অনেক সময় শব্দের চেয়েও শক্তিশালী। তরুণদের এই অংশগ্রহণ আমাদের আশাবাদী করে।”
এই আয়োজন সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন করতে সহযোগিতা করেছে “সু-প্যালেস” এবং “ফ্যাশন প্যালেস”।
