Md Mehedi Hasan | Youth Leader, Founder & Social Activist from Gaibandha
Md Mehedi Hasan is a dedicated youth leader and social activist from Gaibandha, Bangladesh, currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Islamic History and Culture. Since 2016, he has been actively engaged in social initiatives focusing on child rights, youth empowerment, and community development.
He is the Founder & CEO of Srijonshil Gaibandha and Boi Ghor Pathagar—both officially registered organizations working on education, awareness, and cultural activities. In recognition of his contribution to child rights and media, he received the Mina Media Award (2018) from UNICEF.
Mehedi has represented youth voices at national and international platforms including TIB, UNICEF, Wreetu, Bondhushava, and has also served as a former Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) member under the Right Here Right Now–2 (RHRN2) project. In addition, he was a former Child Parliament Member under the National Children’s Task Force (NCTF), where he worked on child rights advocacy and leadership.
Passionate about breaking social taboos, he has facilitated impactful sessions on menstrual health and gender equality, inspiring positive change among young people.

মোঃ মেহেদী হাসান গাইবান্ধার একজন নিবেদিতপ্রাণ যুবনেতা ও সামাজিক কর্মী। তিনি বর্তমানে ইসলামের ইতিহাস ও সংস্কৃতি বিষয়ে স্নাতক ডিগ্রি অর্জন করছেন। ২০১৬ সাল থেকে তিনি শিশু অধিকার, যুব নেতৃত্ব বিকাশ এবং কমিউনিটি উন্নয়ন বিষয়ক নানা সামাজিক উদ্যোগে সক্রিয়ভাবে কাজ করে আসছেন।
তিনি সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা এবং বই ঘর পাঠাগার-এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা ও প্রধান নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা (CEO)। শিক্ষা, সচেতনতা ও সাংস্কৃতিক কার্যক্রমে বিশেষ ভূমিকা রাখার জন্য এ দুটি সংগঠন সরকারিভাবে নিবন্ধিত। শিশু অধিকার ও গণমাধ্যমে অবদানের স্বীকৃতি হিসেবে তিনি ইউনিসেফ কর্তৃক মীনা মিডিয়া অ্যাওয়ার্ড (২০১৮) লাভ করেন।
মেহেদী জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক বিভিন্ন প্ল্যাটফর্মে যুবসমাজের প্রতিনিধি হিসেবে কাজ করেছেন। এর মধ্যে রয়েছে টিআইবি, ইউনিসেফ, রীতু, বন্ধু সভাসহ নানা সংগঠন। তিনি রাইট হিয়ার রাইট নাউ–২ (RHRN2) প্রকল্পের অধীনে ইয়ুথ অ্যাডভাইজরি কমিটি (YAC)-এর সাবেক সদস্য ছিলেন। এছাড়া তিনি ন্যাশনাল চিলড্রেনস টাস্ক ফোর্স (NCTF)-এর অধীনে সাবেক শিশু সংসদ সদস্য হিসেবে শিশু অধিকার ও নেতৃত্ব বিকাশে কাজ করেছেন।
সমাজের প্রচলিত কুসংস্কার ভাঙার জন্য তিনি সক্রিয়ভাবে কাজ করছেন। বিশেষ করে মাসিক স্বাস্থ্য ও লিঙ্গ সমতা বিষয়ে তার পরিচালিত সেশনগুলো তরুণদের মাঝে ইতিবাচক পরিবর্তন আনতে অনুপ্রেরণা জুগিয়েছে।
