Gaibandha EcoCycle: Youth Innovation for Flood-Resilient Green Economy

Gaibandha EcoCycle: Youth Innovation for Flood-Resilient Green Economy was a youth-led climate action project implemented by Youth Srijonshil Gaibandha with the support of VSO Bangladesh from January to March 2026. The project addressed the growing challenge of post-flood floating plastic waste and household waste by promoting a circular economy approach. Through recycling, compost production, seed ball preparation, environmental awareness campaigns, and green entrepreneurship training, the project empowered local youth, women, and persons with disabilities to transform waste into eco-friendly products and sustainable livelihood opportunities. The initiative also strengthened community resilience, encouraged climate-smart practices, and contributed to environmental conservation and climate adaptation in flood-prone communities of Gaibandha.
