Workshop on Reusable and Eco-Friendly Product Development Held in Gaibandha

A day-long workshop on plastic waste management and the production of reusable, eco-friendly products was held in Gaibandha with the active participation of local youth. The workshop was organized as part of the initiative “Gaibandha EcoCycle: Youth Innovation for Flood-Resilient Green Economy.” The main theme focused on promoting reusable and environmentally friendly products and raising awareness about plastic waste management.

The workshop took place on 25 February 2026 at 10:00 AM in the meeting room of Srijonshil Gaibandha, located on Station Road, Gaibandha. A total of 25 participants, including local young men and women and volunteers, attended the event. The program was organized by Srijonshil Gaibandha, co-organized by National Youth Forum Bangladesh (NYF), with support from VSO Bangladesh.

The workshop featured detailed discussions on the harmful impacts of plastic pollution, methods of waste segregation, techniques for creating usable products from recyclable materials, and the role of youth in building a green economy. Through hands-on training sessions, participants learned how to create various eco-friendly products and presented their innovative ideas.

Among the distinguished guests present were Social Services Officer of Gaibandha Sadar Upazila, Md. Nasir Uddin Shah; President of Srijonshil Gaibandha, Md. Mehedi Hasan; and Project Officer, Athar Mihda Tuba, along with others.

Md. Nasir Uddin Shah emphasized that the active involvement of youth is crucial in protecting the environment and reducing plastic waste. He described such initiatives as timely and highly commendable.

Md. Mehedi Hasan stated that promoting environmentally friendly lifestyles and encouraging innovative thinking among youth will play a significant role in building a sustainable and aware society. He expressed optimism that similar programs will continue to be organized in the future.

গাইবান্ধায় তরুণদের সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণে প্লাস্টিক বর্জ্য ব্যবস্থাপনা ও পরিবেশবান্ধব পণ্য তৈরির ওপর একটি দিনব্যাপী কর্মশালা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। “গাইবান্ধা ইকোসাইকেল: বন্যা-সহনশীল সবুজ অর্থনীতির জন্য তরুণদের উদ্ভাবন” উদ্যোগের অংশ হিসেবে আয়োজিত এ কর্মশালার মূল প্রতিপাদ্য ছিল পুনর্ব্যবহারযোগ্য ও পরিবেশবান্ধব পণ্য তৈরি এবং প্লাস্টিক বর্জ্য ব্যবস্থাপনা বিষয়ে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি।

২৫ ফেব্রুয়ারি ২০২৬ তারিখে সকাল ১০ টায় গাইবান্ধা স্টেশন রোডে সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধার মিটিং রুমে আয়োজিত এ কর্মশালায় স্থানীয় তরুণ-তরুণী ও স্বেচ্ছাসেবকসহ মোট ২৫ জন অংশগ্রহণ করেন। কর্মশালার আয়োজন সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা এবং সহ-আয়োজক হিসেবে ছিল এনওয়াইএফ সহযোগিতায় ভিএসও বাংলাদেশ।

কর্মশালায় প্লাস্টিক দূষণের ক্ষতিকর প্রভাব, বর্জ্য আলাদা করে সংগ্রহের পদ্ধতি, পুনর্ব্যবহারযোগ্য উপকরণ দিয়ে ব্যবহারযোগ্য পণ্য তৈরির কৌশল এবং সবুজ অর্থনীতি গড়ে তুলতে তরুণদের ভূমিকা নিয়ে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা করা হয়। অংশগ্রহণকারীরা হাতে-কলমে প্রশিক্ষণের মাধ্যমে বিভিন্ন পরিবেশবান্ধব পণ্য তৈরি শেখেন এবং নিজেদের উদ্ভাবনী ধারণা উপস্থাপন করেন।

এসময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন গাইবান্ধা সদর উপজেলার সমাজসেবা অফিসার মোঃ নাসির উদ্দিন শাহ, সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা’র সভাপতি মোঃ মেহেদী হাসান এবং প্রোজেক্ট অফিসার আতহার মিহদা তুবা সহ অনেকে।

গাইবান্ধা সদর উপজেলার সমাজসেবা অফিসার মোঃ নাসির উদ্দিন শাহ বলেন, পরিবেশ সুরক্ষা ও প্লাস্টিক বর্জ্য কমাতে তরুণদের সক্রিয় ভূমিকা অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। তিনি এ ধরনের উদ্যোগকে সময়োপযোগী ও প্রশংসনীয় বলে উল্লেখ করেন।

সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা’র সভাপতি মোঃ মেহেদী হাসান বলেন, পরিবেশবান্ধব জীবনযাপন ও তরুণদের উদ্ভাবনী চিন্তার সমন্বয়ে একটি টেকসই ও সচেতন সমাজ গড়ে তুলতে এ ধরনের কর্মসূচি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে। ভবিষ্যতেও এ ধরনের কার্যক্রম ধারাবাহিকভাবে আয়োজন করা হবে বলে তিনি আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করেন।
