Young Volunteer Leaders Join Anti-Corruption Workshop in Gaibandha

With a shared commitment to building a corruption-free, transparent, accountable, and sustainable society, a workshop titled "Sustainable Development and Institutional Good Governance: The Role of Youth Organizers" was held in Gaibandha on 23 July 2026. The event was jointly organized by the Conscious Citizens' Committee (SONAK), Gaibandha, and the Youth Engagement and Support (YES) Group, Gaibandha, under the inspiration of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB). More than fifty young representatives from 17 volunteer organizations across the district participated in the workshop.

The workshop focused on anti-corruption initiatives, institutional good governance, the Right to Information Act, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the vital role of young people in achieving SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. The session was facilitated by Md. Atikur Rahman, Coordinator of the Civic Engagement Department at TIB.

The workshop was chaired by Afroza Begum Lupu, President of SONAK Gaibandha. Distinguished speakers included Professor Mazharul Mannan, Former President of SONAK; Afroza Begum Luna, Vice President of SONAK; Shirin Akter, Convener of the YES Sub-Committee; A. S. M. Nahid Hasan Chowdhury Riyad, SONAK Member; and Kamal Krishna Saha, Cluster Coordinator of TIB Rangpur Region.

Representing Srijonshil Gaibandha Foundation were Md. Mehedi Hasan, Founder & President; Ranjon Chandra Debnath, Finance Officer; Mosammat Jannatul Minjiya, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer; and Md. Al Imran, Technical Support Officer.

At the closing session, participants pledged to actively promote the Sustainable Development Goals, strengthen institutional good governance, uphold integrity, and work collectively to prevent corruption through their respective organizations. They also committed to socially rejecting corrupt practices and contributing to a transparent, accountable, and justice-based society.

গাইবান্ধায় দুর্নীতি প্রতিরোধে স্বেচ্ছাসেবী তরুণ সংগঠকদের কর্মশালা।

দুর্নীতিমুক্ত, স্বচ্ছ, জবাবদিহিমূলক ও টেকসই সমাজ গঠনের প্রত্যয়ে গাইবান্ধায় অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে ‘টেকসই উন্নয়ন ও প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক সুশাসন: তরুণ সংগঠকদের করণীয়’ শীর্ষক একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কর্মশালা। ট্রান্সপারেন্সি ইন্টারন্যাশনাল বাংলাদেশ (টিআইবি)-এর অনুপ্রেরণায় গঠিত সচেতন নাগরিক কমিটি (সনাক), গাইবান্ধা এবং ইয়ুথ এনগেজমেন্ট অ্যান্ড সাপোর্ট (ইয়েস) গ্রুপ, গাইবান্ধা-এর উদ্যোগে ২৩ জুলাই ২০২৬ তারিখে স্থানীয় একটি রেস্টুরেন্টে আয়োজিত এ কর্মশালায় জেলার ১৭টি স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সংগঠনের অর্ধশতাধিক তরুণ প্রতিনিধি অংশগ্রহণ করেন।

কর্মশালায় দুর্নীতি প্রতিরোধ, প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক সুশাসন, তথ্য অধিকার আইন, টেকসই উন্নয়ন অভীষ্ট (এসডিজি)-এর গুরুত্ব এবং বিশেষ করে এসডিজি-১৬ (শান্তি, ন্যায়বিচার ও শক্তিশালী প্রতিষ্ঠান) বাস্তবায়নে তরুণদের ভূমিকা নিয়ে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। কর্মশালাটি সঞ্চালনা করেন টিআইবি’র সিভিক এনগেজমেন্ট বিভাগের কোঅর্ডিনেটর মো. আতিকুর রহমান।

অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন সনাক গাইবান্ধার সভাপতি আফরোজা বেগম লুপু। এছাড়াও বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন সাবেক সনাক সভাপতি অধ্যাপক মাজহারউল মান্নান, সনাকের সহ-সভাপতি আফরোজা বেগম লুনা, ইয়েস উপকমিটির আহ্বায়ক শিরিন আক্তার, সনাক সদস্য এ. এস. এম. নাহিদ হাসান চৌধুরী রিয়াদ এবং টিআইবি রংপুর অঞ্চলের ক্লাস্টার কোঅর্ডিনেটর কমল কৃষ্ণ সাহা।

এই কর্মশালায় সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা ফাউন্ডেশন-এর পক্ষ থেকে অংশগ্রহণ করেন সভাপতি মো. মেহেদী হাসান, অর্থ কর্মকর্তা রঞ্জন চন্দ্র দেবনাথ, পর্যবেক্ষণ, মূল্যায়ন ও শিক্ষণ (এমইএল) কর্মকর্তা মোছা. জান্নাতুল মিনজিয়া এবং কারিগরি সহায়ক মো. আল ইমরান।

কর্মশালার সমাপনী পর্বে অংশগ্রহণকারী সকল তরুণ সংগঠক নিজ নিজ সাংগঠনিক অবস্থান থেকে টেকসই উন্নয়ন অভীষ্ট বাস্তবায়ন, প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক সুশাসন প্রতিষ্ঠা, শুদ্ধাচার চর্চা এবং দুর্নীতি প্রতিরোধে সম্মিলিতভাবে কাজ করার অঙ্গীকার ব্যক্ত করেন। একই সঙ্গে দুর্নীতিবাজদের সামাজিকভাবে বয়কট এবং একটি স্বচ্ছ, জবাবদিহিমূলক ও ন্যায়ভিত্তিক সমাজ প্রতিষ্ঠার লক্ষ্যে যৌথ শপথ গ্রহণ করেন।

সৃজনশীল গাইবান্ধা ফাউন্ডেশন বিশ্বাস করে, সচেতন, দক্ষ ও দায়িত্বশীল তরুণদের নেতৃত্ব এবং সম্মিলিত উদ্যোগের মাধ্যমেই একটি দুর্নীতিমুক্ত, সুশাসনভিত্তিক ও টেকসই বাংলাদেশ গড়ে তোলা সম্ভব। এই লক্ষ্য বাস্তবায়নে আমরা ভবিষ্যতেও সমাজে স্বচ্ছতা, জবাবদিহিতা, নৈতিকতা এবং টেকসই উন্নয়ন নিশ্চিত করতে বিভিন্ন কার্যক্রমে সক্রিয়ভাবে সম্পৃক্ত থাকব। একসঙ্গে গড়ি দুর্নীতিমুক্ত, সুশাসনভিত্তিক ও টেকসই বাংলাদেশ।
